Pretty Polish: Rimmel 'Breakfast in Bed'

4 June 2015

The Rita Ora for Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish in 'Breakfast in Bed' is a beautiful, eye-catching blue. It brings to mind sleepy Sunday mornings complete with fresh flowers, crisp white sheets, and sunlight flooding in through wide windows.

It's bright--brighter than you'd expect from the bottle. In fact, I'd say it's almost cyan in colour. You know that obnoxiously bright blue-green we all used on Paint as ten year olds (or perhaps still use; totally not judging)?. Yep, that. Alternatively, it's a mint blue that has some fine golden shimmer running through it. I normally only stick to creamy nail polishes as shimmery ones often come with thick, gloopy formulas.

This is no different. *collective sigh*

Breakfast in Bed streaks like a teenager experimenting with a box dye highlighting kit. Three coats leaves me with a decently even finish but--as pictured above in the most awkward hand shot to ever exist--it also leaves messy-as cuticles (otherwise known as 'Karina blames polishes because she sucks at painting nails'). Drying time is most definitely not 60 seconds, and lasting time on me is around the five day mark, which I find is quite typical of Rimmel nail polishes.

With all these issues, it might seem a strange choice to feature this as my Pretty Polish of the moment, but despite all its faults, this colour has garnered many a compliment, and that's not something that goes unappreciated around here.

As far as I know, you can find Breakfast in Bed along with the original Rita Ora collection of nail colours at all Rimmel stockists, but I can't seem to find it on the Rimmel website. Does this mean it is limited edition? I do not know. #lazyblogger
